CAC Receives EPA CARE Grant for Project in Camden Waterfront South

EPA's Community Action for a Renewed Environnment (CARE) program has awarded $250,000 to Clean Air Communities for a project in the Waterfront South neighborhood of Camden, New Jersey. The grant funds will be used to engage residents and businesses in an informed dialogue about local sources of air pollution and to retrofit diesel vehicles and equipment owned and operated by the South Jersey Port Corporation. The project is a collaboration with the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection and several community groups, and it builds on the recommendations from the "Air Toxics Pilot Project" and "Environmental Justice Report and Action Plan for Waterfront South" previously developed by NJ DEP and a broad-based stakeholder group.

More information is available in the EPA press release.
